FU’s ‘Accident Report Service’ is announced to the insurance industry

13.05.2016
Since its inception FU has been applauded for innovations within its sector. However, FU has now launched a first within the insurance industry as well: The Accident Report Service, which was announced by our CEO Ertugrul Bul.
In an article published on his website www.ertugrulbul.comMr. Ertugrul Bul provides details of the Accident Report Service. By using this innovative service insurance companies will now have the opportunity to operate more efficiently.

In his articlenda "Mr. Bul noted how “it takes time for these reports to be delivered to the insurance companies for several reasons. Outstanding claim provisions to be set aside during that term are calculated based on the statistical figures of the past.

In this case a provision for a claim payable in the future is set aside based on the statistical figures of the past. This may lead to contentions because of reasons attributable to methodological differences in statistical figures.

For example: There is a serious gap between the statistical figures for accidents with causalities in Turkey and the actual death figures. The basic reason underlying this difference is the fact that statistics of deaths for those who are injured and treated during an accident are noted down as causalities due to different causes such as cardiac arrest, respiratory insufficiency etc instead of accident.

The fact that statistical figures are interpreted and reported differently results in different figures in calculations by public agencies and insurance company managers, respectively. This may even have an impact on the pricing of Traffic Insurance Policies and it may eventually lead to consumer dissatisfaction.” The article underlines the sector’s need for a service such as the Accident Report Service.
